Bridal Tan, the mayor’s nominee for reappointment to the San Francisco Entertainment Commission, described her three years on the body and asked the Rules Committee on Sept. 10 to forward her reappointment to the full Board of Supervisors.
Tan said she has served on the commission since January 2012, including time as commission president, and cited work on the Western SoMa plan and an interdepartmental late-night transportation working group as key accomplishments. “I played an active role in preserving nightlife in the Western SoMa plan,” Tan said, and added that the commission balanced protections for residents with policies that sustain nightlife and new artists.
Supervisors voiced support for Tan’s reappointment and for keeping nightlife businesses accountable while protecting neighborhoods. The committee moved to send a committee report recommending approval to the full Board and took that motion without objection.
The committee did not take a roll-call vote at the meeting; the action was recorded as a committee report to be considered by the full Board on the September 22 agenda.
