Items forwarded included two candidates for the In‑Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority (item 5), two nominees for the Commission on the Aging Advisory Council (item 6) including Diane Lawrence who emphasized neighborhood senior‑center outreach, and Michael Kirkland to the Shelter Monitoring Committee (item 7), whose testimony highlighted lived experience with homelessness and proposals to strengthen shelter case‑management and training. Supervisors noted the city’s aging population and the importance of preserving in‑home services.
Separately, the committee recommended reappointment of Dr. Joe Marshall to the Police Commission (item 2) and advanced Todd Henry for a seat on the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee (item 24); Henry is a transportation planner who emphasized engineering and infrastructure measures to reduce pedestrian collisions.
All forwarded nominations were adopted by the Rules Committee and will appear on the Board of Supervisors’ agenda for final action.
