Rules Committee forwards multiple appointments: bicycle, civic advisory, sunshine task force and animal commission nominees

Citizens Advisory Committee, Central Market/Tenderloin: Sam Dennison presented his background with Faithful Fools Street Ministry and advocacy in the Tenderloin on displacement, affordability and community dialogue. The committee recommended his appointment and forwarded it with a positive recommendation to the full Board.
Sunshine Ordinance Task Force: Four applicants (Bruce Wolf; Sean Haynes; Fiona Hines; Kristen Chu) focused on technology, backlog of minutes and open-government capacity. After discussion, the committee moved to appoint Sean Haynes to seat 8 and Fiona Hines to seat 11 and took the motion without objection.
Commission of Animal Control and Welfare: Nine applicants vied for four seats. Applicants and public endorsers emphasized volunteer experience, shelter practices, rescue networks and pet-friendly housing. Supervisors asked all applicants when euthanasia is appropriate; answers varied and emphasized either public safety, irremediable suffering, sanctuary options or quality-of-life considerations. The committee voted to reappoint several incumbents and to appoint Jane Tobin to the seat vacated by departing chair Sally Stevens; Supervisors recorded motions to support Davy (Davy/Davy Lang noted in testimony), Russell Tanofsky, Julian Johnson and Jane Tobin and took the appointments without recorded objection.
Where the committee made appointments without a roll-call vote, the action was recorded as taken "without objection" and will be finalized by the full Board when it acts on the nominations.
