Supervisor Yee noted that amendments proposed by Supervisor Kim had been reviewed the previous Thursday and that Kim did not need to be present for today’s action. An unidentified member of the public said in part, "The subject matter is now is about, public housing," and urged what the speaker described as neighborhood-appropriate locations, citing Japan Center in preference to Chinatown.
After public comment, Chair Yee asked for a motion to forward the item as a committee report to the full Board with a recommendation. An unidentified speaker moved to forward the item; the chair stated the motion passed "with no objection." The clerk had earlier advised that items acted on today would appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda on Sept. 2 unless otherwise stated.
No formal vote tallies were recorded in the committee transcript beyond the chair’s statement that the motions passed with no objection. No final ordinance or binding action was taken by the full Board at this meeting; the item will return to the Board of Supervisors for further consideration and any ballot placement requires the full Board’s follow-up procedures.
