The Rules Committee voted June 5 to recommend reappointments for members of the SoMa Community Stabilization Fund Community Advisory Committee.
Six applicants and incumbents presented on their work to stabilize South of Market neighborhoods: Joel Merchant stressed neighborhood roots and community collaboration; Claudine Del Rosario spoke on Connie Ford's long service and labor representation; Chris Angoko emphasized small-sites programs to enable nonprofits to acquire property; Alan Manalo described local community-service work; John Eberling highlighted affordable housing experience; and Tom Timprano described small-business initiatives and a revolving loan fund designed to encourage hiring of local residents.
Public commenters including Rudy Corpus and a representative for Supervisor Kim urged support for the incumbents, praising the Fund's work on youth programs, job training and neighborhood stabilization. Supervisors thanked applicants for their service and, without objection, the committee recommended reappointments to the full Board.
