Rules Committee forwards proposed body‑art ordinance to full Board

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rules Committee on Feb. 6 forwarded to the full Board a proposed ordinance that would amend the city’s health, business and tax regulation codes to require registration with the Department of Public Health for tattooing and other body‑art providers and to add fees for body‑art permits and licenses.
Dr. Johnson Ojo of the Department of Public Health reintroduced the ordinance and said the department had reintroduced the body‑art ordinance and posted the proposed fee schedule for public feedback. "I'm here to answer any questions the Rules Committee and the general public might have regarding this new fee schedule," he said.
Committee Chair Supervisor Norman Yee solicited public comment; none was offered. Supervisor Yee then asked for a motion to forward the ordinance to the full Board. A motion was made and, "with no objection," the motion passed.
The clerk said items acted on today will appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda on Feb. 25 unless otherwise stated. The full Board will receive the ordinance at that meeting for further consideration.
