Committee advances multiple board and advisory appointments, including Graffiti Board and bond oversight seat

The Rules Committee advanced a slate of appointments and reappointments during its Feb. 20 meeting, sending each to the full Board with positive recommendations.
Supervisor David Campos moved to reappoint Brenda Yee to the San Francisco Health Authority after an applicant described prior service on the San Francisco Health Plan board and work serving low‑income populations. Deputy City Attorney John Givner clarified that state law governs residency/work requirements for the commission and that a city‑charter residency waiver does not apply in this case; the reappointment motion passed with no objection.
Didi Workman, director of public policy for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, sought the business seat on the Graffiti Advisory Board. Workman described long experience with graffiti abatement dating back to work with San Francisco Beautiful and explained she lives in St. Mary's Park and interacts with local businesses and property owners. Supervisor Campos and others voiced support, and the committee moved her appointment forward with no objection.
Mike Ocaville (transcript: speaker 11) spoke in support of his application to the Citizens General Obligation Bond Oversight Committee, citing experience in labor representation, contract negotiations, and familiarity with capital projects including the water system improvement plan and Central Subway. The committee recommended his appointment.
The committee also considered reappointments to the Market & Octavia Community Advisory Committee. Kruti Singh (transcript: speaker 12) described two years' service, planning and multimodal transportation experience, and long residence in the Market‑Octavia area; staff reported on attendance and contributions of other incumbents. The committee moved forward the recommended reappointments for four candidates.
All appointment motions in this block passed with no objection and will be scheduled for full Board confirmation.
