Committee approves amendment to Extech city contract and extension of term

City purchasing staff told the Budget & Finance Committee the city seeks a fourth amendment to the Extech computer‑store master contract, increasing the current authorization toward $25,000,000 through December 2006 and extending administration through December 2007. Naomi Kelly, city purchaser, described a planned transition of contract administration to the office of contract administration and said the department will meet with stakeholders including DTIS and Local 21 to refine subcontracting goals and mitigate compliance gaps.
Kelly said the department supports reducing an originally requested amendment amount from $28,000,000 to $25,000,000 following the budget analyst’s recommendation and explained work to prepare a competitive RFP for the next contract cycle. The committee moved the item with the amendment without objection.
