Supervisor committee forwards Patrick Carney for City Hall preservation panel

Carney, a licensed architect who described 34 years of preservation work and service on the City Hall restoration team, told members he is familiar with the building's restoration history and materials. "I feel my education, preservation experience, and background related to City Hall's restoration give me unique qualifications which will be useful on this commission," he said.
Preservation advocates and the City's centennial historian urged the committee to approve the nomination, noting the timing during City Hall's centennial and Carney's relevant experience. Committee members asked a few brief questions about his record; with no public opposition the committee voted to forward the nomination.
The measure will be placed on the Board agenda for final confirmation.
