The committee clarified that the ordinance grants about a two-month extension and that monitoring would continue to ensure the $10,000-per-day penalty language remains a legislative option if further delays arise. The Controller—s Office said it would monitor the timeline so the penalty would not be triggered while the department manages the extension.
