Bloomberg, a South Beach resident and retired systems engineer, described long-standing attendance at PSAC and district-level pedestrian-safety meetings and service on the mayor’s pedestrian-safety task-force data subcommittee. He urged PSAC to take a strategic, data‑driven role and to produce periodic metrics on pedestrian–vehicle collisions and fatalities to measure city performance and guide policy.
Committee members praised Bloomberg’s engagement and noted the importance of representing seniors and district-specific pedestrian needs as South of Market becomes more residential.
