The Rules Committee opened a hearing Feb. 16 to appoint a member to the Public Utilities Revenue Bond Oversight Committee but continued the matter to the call of the chair. One applicant, Joseph Sheehy, presented his qualifications and interest in water-system issues, and public commenters supported other candidates (including Karen Donovan). Because two other applicants were unavailable due to jury duty, supervisors agreed to continue the item so the committee could hear all applicants before advancing a nomination.
Committee members praised Sheehy’s local roots and interest in Hetch Hetchy and San Francisco’s water system and agreed that a full hearing with all applicants present would better serve the board’s deliberations.
