The Rules Committee advanced a resolution authorizing the mayor to cast ballots on behalf of the City and County of San Francisco for two city‑owned parcels that would be subject to assessments in a proposed West Portal Community Benefit District.
Lisa Pagan of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development explained the resolution covers two city parcels — the Muni station and the West Portal library parcel — that together would bear $12,848 annually in assessments, or about 6.49% of the district’s weighted assessment total. The final ballot hearing was scheduled for Sept. 27; the resolution would allow the mayor to cast affirmative ballots before that hearing if the Board approved the item.
Supervisor discussion noted the community appeared evenly split at a recent community meeting and that the supervisor who represents the district will weigh private property owner votes when deciding how to vote on establishment. The committee moved the resolution forward as a committee report for Board consideration.
