Rules Committee forwards charter amendments on SFMTA appointments, budget and oversight to full Board

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rules Committee voted to forward charter amendments that would change the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s governance, appointments, Transportation Fund budget process, Inspector General authority and labor relations provisions to the full Board for consideration.
Chair David Campos said the item returned to the committee for an additional hearing because it had been amended since its prior appearance. "That’s the reason we're here," Campos said, explaining the committee needed to hear the amended language at least once in committee before the Board could consider it.
Clerk Linda Wong read the item for the record, listing the elements covered by the proposed charter changes. The committee took a roll-call vote on a motion forwarded by the chair; Supervisor Mikhail Alliotta Pier was recorded as No, Supervisor Eric Marr as Aye and Chair Campos as Aye. The motion to forward the charter amendments passed 2–1.
There was no public comment on the item during the committee hearing. The amendments will now proceed to the full Board for further consideration and any additional hearings or votes there.
