Ken, representing macys.com, said his company has about 45 key openings and praised the portal as a way to find local talent. The mayor and employers urged small businesses and nonprofits to join the program; officials said eligibility is based on household income and unemployment status and pointed interested residents to hiresf.org for details.
The announcement emphasized rapid hiring potential from existing federal resources and encouraged increased outreach so counties and the state could better draw down available funds.
