The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rules Committee on May 6 approved the appointment of Christine (Chris) Wong to the Board of Appeals for a term ending July 1, 2014.
Wong, who said she is a partner at Leonard Carter with a practice focused on labor-law fiduciary and benefit matters, told the committee she applied to “make a contribution to the city’s governance” by bringing her experience as a lawyer and community member. Supervisor Mark praised Wong’s history of uniting labor, LGBT and Asian Pacific Islander communities and moved the appointment. The motion was seconded and taken without objection.
Chair Supervisor David Campos congratulated Wong and noted the committee would forward the item as a committee report to the full Board of Supervisors.
No public commenters opposed the nomination during the brief public-comment portion for the item. The committee did not take additional formal action on the matter at the hearing; the appointment proceeds as a committee report to the full board.
