Kimberly Brandon, who has served 12 years with the Port Commission, outlined her record and priorities in a presentation that highlighted waterfront projects and community outreach. She cited work on the Ferry Building redevelopment, Pier 70 planning and policies intended to increase local hiring and environmental stewardship on port property. In her presentation she noted the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks general obligation bond and how port projects had been tied to funding for parks and waterfront improvements.
Members of the public — including neighborhood leaders, business representatives, and nonprofit directors — supported Brandon’s reappointment and urged the committee to forward her nomination. "She has worked to ensure that local businesses and LBEs have fair opportunities in port contracting," a speaker said during public comment.
Supervisor Chris Daly moved to forward the nomination to the full board; Supervisor Elliot Alioto‑Pier seconded the motion. The committee reported the appointment to the full board without objection.
The reappointment will go to the Board of Supervisors on the October 6 docket for final confirmation.
