Supporters of Lee also testified, citing his attention to budget issues and advocacy for fiscal scrutiny.
Supervisor Chris Daly moved the motion to recommend rejection. The clerk conducted a roll call: Daly — aye; Supervisor Duffy — no; Supervisor Campos — aye. With two aye votes and one no, the committee approved forwarding a committee report recommending rejection of the mayor’s reappointment.
The committee’s action does not itself remove the nominee; it sends a recommendation to the full Board, which will decide the nomination in accordance with charter timelines.
Next steps: the committee report will be transmitted to the Board for consideration at its next meeting.
