On taxi regulation and revenue options, staff described three proposals for medallions: a rejected one-time sale that could have raised roughly $50,000,000; and alternative pilot or renewal approaches that might raise $5–15,000,000 annually or $5–10,000,000 for limited pilots.
Local contracting and workforce concerns also arose. Supervisors asked about procurement strategies for parking-garage management and grouping multiple garages into single RFPs; MTA acknowledged concern that bundling work could disadvantage small and local firms and said the board had sent the item back to staff to address those issues.
Action: Supervisor (unnamed) moved the reappointment of Tom Nolan and the committee moved it forward without recorded objection; the recommendation will go to the full Board on March 31 per the clerk’s calendar announcement.
