Committee forwards Christina Olague’s reappointment to full board after broad public support

The Rules Committee voted to forward Board President Peskin’s nomination of Christina Olague to the full Board of Supervisors for confirmation to a second four‑year term on the Planning Commission.

Commissioner Christina Olague spoke briefly about learning through the role and her commitment to neighborhood accessibility and comprehensive planning. Dozens of community leaders and advocates then testified in favor of her renomination. Supporters included representatives from neighborhood groups, housing advocates, labor organizations and planning‑oriented nonprofits who praised Olague’s accessibility, attention to social equity and willingness to raise difficult questions.

Trustee John Rizzo of the Community College Board, Jim Meeko and representatives from Tent‑City and the Tenderloin Housing Clinic urged the committee to move the nomination forward.
