Rules Committee forwards several appointments, continuances and commendations to full board
Summary
The Rules Committee passed multiple routine appointment items to the full Board with recommendations, continued an amendment to the Board rules of order to Oct. 18 and agreed to send several commendatory resolutions to the board as committee reports.
Chair Supervisor Tom Ammiano opened the meeting and the clerk read routine agenda items including appointments, commendations and rules amendments.
The committee read and agreed to forward a motion appointing Supervisor Chris Daly to the San Francisco Local Agency Formation Commission to the full board with recommendation. The committee also moved to forward intact the single-applicant appointment to the Childcare Planning and Advisory Council, the sweat-free procurement advisory group appointment (Christian John Martinez) and the Urban Forestry Council applicant, each to the full board.
A representative for Supervisor Alioto-Pierce requested a continuance on a proposed amendment to the Board’s rules of order so supervisors could provide additional input; the committee continued the item to October 18. The clerk also read several commendatory items (including a resolution recognizing the Barleycorn Pub and one declaring Sea Otter Awareness Week) and the committee voted to send those resolutions to the full board as committee reports.
There was no formal roll-call vote recorded on these routine items; motions were forwarded "without objection" or as committee requests and will appear on the Board’s agenda for consideration.
