The Rules Committee considered a roster of appointments, advisory-board nominations and procedural items and made the following dispositions: it moved the appointment of Richard Tills to the body-sickle advisory committee (Item 5) forward with recommendation after noting the applicant had testified previously and was not present today; it continued Item 6 (graffiti advisory board appointment) to the call of the chair; and it advanced Western SoMa Citizens Planning Task Force appointments (Mark Vernon and Susan Hagen Contreras) with recommendation after public testimony about open-space and recreation concerns.
The committee also moved the reappointment of Supervisor Tom Ammiano to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (Item 9) forward with recommendation.
During the closed session portion, Deputy City Attorney Cheryl Adams asked the committee to meet under Government Code section 54956.9(a) and San Francisco Administrative Code section 67.1(d) to discuss pending claims and litigation; the committee met in closed session and afterwards moved items 10–12 forward to the Board with recommendation. The meeting then adjourned.
