Deputy City Attorney Cheryl Adams clarified to the committee that the City Attorney’s Office was performing standard vetting of appointees and was not conducting a special investigation of Yee. The committee agreed to send the nomination to the full board for a vote at the scheduled meeting a week later.
The committee did not take a substantive vote on the merits; it transmitted the nomination along with public comments and the candidate’s declaration for consideration by the full board.
