Facilities update and resignation: board hears capital-project progress, accepts resignation of trustee Scott Polston

The Saugerties Central School District Board of Education received a facilities report and accepted the resignation of trustee Scott Polston at its Aug. 13 meeting.
Facilities committee members summarized ongoing capital work: window and flooring projects at district buildings, placement of new AC units at Morris, exhaust-vent work at the high school, planned flooring replacement in two classrooms at Ricardee this year, and planning for ADA-compliant egress work previously authorized in May. The facilities committee said it will meet again in September.
Late in the meeting the presiding officer announced that "Scott, today resigned from the board." Trustees thanked Polston for his service on curriculum, finance and facilities and said they will discuss options to fill his seat at the next meeting or the following meeting, and pursue the vacancy process in accordance with district practice.
The board also reported that a board operations manual under attorney review is expected to return for adoption in October after a September review of attorney comments. The meeting moved into and out of executive session and adjourned.
