Valencia presented an application from Shams Rahany for a new retail beer-and-wine license at Rockdale Mart LLC, 405 Sigman Road; council approved the license by voice vote. The council also approved a change of ownership for a retail package-liquor store (Katie Shea Investment Company LLC d/b/a beverage superstore) on Georgia Highway 20; the item was characterized as a change of hands rather than a new store.
Earlier in the meeting Alan presented a recognition for Daniel Drummond, noting 25 years of service as security alert manager and facility maintenance manager for Conyers; the council publicly congratulated Drummond. Toward the end of the meeting the council voted to enter executive session for potential litigation to include the city manager and the city attorney (and chief operating officer); the motion carried by voice vote and the meeting adjourned into executive session.
What’s next: staff will process license paperwork for both businesses and follow up on any outstanding documentation; city manager and attorney will handle the matters discussed in executive session.
