A cultural‑team leader described efforts to preserve school identities during redistricting, listing three staff priorities: build opportunities for informal relationship time; develop a rebranding process that will not force assimilation of a closing school's culture into receiving schools; and plan intentional team‑building. The team plans building visits for Center Street staff, cultural 'snapshots' of each school, and targeted family communication before parent‑teacher conferences.
Board members asked for a survey of staff experiences with the transfer process and for details on how schedules and staffing will be balanced. Dr. Douglas and staff said they will provide follow‑up information, including transfer reports and the timeline for family orientation events ahead of September 2025.
