Board approves MOA with RSTA, consultant contract, field trips and donations

The board approved a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with RSTA (motion and second recorded). Trustees also approved a consultant services contract with St. Charles Hospital.
Athletic travel was approved for three field trips: a varsity boys cross‑country trip to Queensbury, N.Y., for the NYSPHSAA championships in November (estimated district cost $909); up to 14 winter varsity cheer athletes and two coaches to Wilkes‑Barre, Pa., on Dec. 7, 2024, for the UCA Pocono Regional (approx. $1,272); and four winter varsity cheer athletes and two coaches to Bridgewater, N.J., on Jan. 12, 2025, for the UCA Garden State Regional (approx. $1,080). Board members wished the teams luck before approving the motions.
The board accepted two donations: a Blue Waves Baseball Booster Club pledge to purchase and install 325 feet of fence for the varsity baseball field (approximate value $6,200) and a $3,000 donation from Eleanor Daley of Jamesport for a Riverhead High School courtyard project.
All motions were made and seconded on the record and passed by voice vote; the meeting minutes record no recorded dissent. No additional financial details beyond the stated approximate costs were provided during the meeting.
