After a motion and second, the commission recorded affirmative votes from Commissioner Aber, Commissioner Dean, Mister Holloway and Mayor Carlson. The motion passed and Bridges was named to the seat.
The commission chair said all four applicants would have been assets and encouraged other applicants to remain engaged with the city. City staff said the appointment process followed notices asking interested residents to contact City Hall and submit information for consideration.
The new commissioner will assume the duties of the seat immediately; the commission did not specify additional orientation steps during the meeting. The appointment resolves the vacancy created by a recent resignation and will remain in effect through Dec. 31, 2026.
