Todd County approves transfers, ambulance fund boost and advances 2026 budget ordinance

Speaker 2 explained an insurance claim of approximately $10,000 had created a shortfall in the ambulance fund. Commissioners approved transferring $8,000 from the general fund to the ambulance fund to carry the program through the end of the fiscal year.
The commission also approved minutes from the May 23 meeting, accounts payable, and the May financial report after Speaker 2 said there was nothing unusual to report. Motions on each item were made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
On the county’s 2026 budget, Speaker 1 asked for approval of Ordinance '25-3 on a second reading; the motion was made and seconded and the commission proceeded with the scheduled process for the ordinance’s second reading.
Next steps: staff will finalize bookkeeping entries, post updated budget documents, and return with any required budget details or final ordinance action at subsequent meetings.
