Rush Off Road/AML infrastructure project: contractors in place, pay estimate submitted for reimbursement

County project engineers updated the fiscal court June 3 on the Rush Off Road AML infrastructure project, reporting active construction, contractual progress and the submission of a first pay estimate for AML reimbursement.

Paul Annenberg of Yale Robinson Engineering and resident project representative Lindsey Pemberton said two contracts are in place: Boca Enterprises (water and sewer work) and Ferguson Excavating (road widening). The transcript records contract values of about $1,100,000 for the water/sewer contract and about $1,800,000 for the road widening work, which will upgrade Herb Ross Road to county standards for roughly one mile.

Annenberg said the road contractor has made visible progress with grading and early work; the water/sewer contractor has ordered materials and will begin after roadway grading to avoid interference between crews. Project staff reported one pay estimate has been submitted, and county staff expect AML reimbursement to cover contractor payments and bring the county back to a zero net outlay once checks are issued.

Engineers also noted the sewer line was upsized so that, in the future, residents along Ellington Road (about 23 homes were cited) could opt for sewer service if they choose. Speakers acknowledged some uncertainties about final access arrangements and possible calls from residents as the sewer and force‑main work proceeds; staff asked residents to report issues so the county can respond.

The update was informational; no formal action or change orders were adopted at the meeting.
