Adair County approves disbursements, fund transfers and payment for new dump truck

At its June meeting, the Adair County fiscal court approved disbursements and multiple internal transfers and authorized payment related to a newly acquired Peterbilt dump truck.

Treasurer Melinda presented disbursements totaling $193,002.61 and a separate request to pay $224,489 from motor-vehicle line O26105743 for the new truck. An additional $2,973.92 from O26105336 was requested to cover a pedal hitch and related maintenance items not included in the original bid. The court voted to authorize payment and later approved a separate motion to pay for installation of the hitch.

Melinda also outlined a series of line-to-line transfers recommended following a state-audit-office finding that required moving $39,833 into a reimbursement line for the jail; the court authorized seven transfers to accomplish the adjustment and permitted a PO/disbursement to reimburse the jail fund. The treasurer presented year-to-date transfers from the general fund to special funds (including $1,331,000 to the jail fund across the fiscal year) and explained timing nuances: transfers executed before July affect the current budget year, while those executed after July impact the next fiscal year.

Motions on disbursements, the truck payment and transfers were made, seconded and carried without roll-call tallies recorded in the transcript.

Next steps: Finance staff will execute authorized transfers and confirm specifications and delivery before final vehicle acceptance.
