Speaker 3, identified only as "Speaker 3" in the transcript, said the new playground equipment is installed and the parking lot and driveway work have been completed, though the surface must dry before blacktop can be applied. "Once we get a blacktop, we'll schedule the grand opening," Speaker 1 said.
The county reported the public pool is open and operating daily, with concessions being tracked and party bookings taking place in afternoons and Sundays. "Concessions are doing well," Speaker 3 said, noting staff are keeping daily balances of admissions and sales.
Construction on a tech-center addition at the community center is near completion, Speaker 3 added: windows and doors are installed and remaining tasks include sheetrock and finishing touches. At the battlefield park the new shelter now has electric and lights installed; only a water connection remains before the site is fully usable.
Officials described follow-up work on resurfacing and bridge patching already completed by crews, and said a vinyl-coated 4-foot fence has been ordered to address behavioral concerns in the playground area. Speaker 3 said contractor Pengal will reevaluate paving in about a week to determine when blacktopping can occur.
The county described a short remaining checklist before making the facilities publicly available and said staff will announce a grand opening date once paving and final inspections are complete.
