Staff asked the committee to concentrate on three buckets: traffic calming measures deployable in lower‑traffic areas; pedestrian crossings at unsignalized mid‑block locations; and pedestrian crossings at signalized intersections where slip lanes or crosswalk treatments are needed. The subcommittee aims to present a prioritized list (target of 10 or more locations) and to work with staff to ensure community input and engineering review.
Committee members requested clearer instructions from staff about which problems to enter in the shared spreadsheet versus other tracking documents and expressed concern about follow‑up when temporary fixes demonstrate success, since no dedicated fund was yet identified for converting temporary treatments to permanent ones.
