Maine DOT urban‑compact MOA: Public Works Director Steve Buckley briefed the board on a proposed memorandum of agreement transferring summer maintenance responsibility for several segments (Chapel Road, North Burke Road, Creditford Road and segments of Sanford Road and Branch Road) from the Maine Department of Transportation to the town. The board approved the MOA and authorized the town manager to sign.
Bid awards and grants: The board awarded the water‑rescue equipment bid to New England Marine (low bidder, ~$41,721.75) and authorized accessing $40,000 from the Stevens and Tabitha King Foundation grant toward the purchase. The board also approved awarding the Pine Ledge Drive and Robinson Road improvement contract to Brex Corporation for $1,133,595 after engineering review found the low bidder met requirements.
Board members said the actions are intended to improve town services and infrastructure while ensuring vendor compliance and fiscal oversight. Each motion carried with unanimous support recorded in the minutes.
