Jeff Profio was introduced to the Prineville City Council and sworn in as the city’s new chief of police during the council meeting. The mayor and City Manager Forrester called Profio and his family to the dais for the official oath; Profio will begin work Monday, Nov. 18.
Profio’s introduction highlighted a 29‑year career in law enforcement, including 24 years with the San Jose Police Department and leadership roles in college police, SWAT, fugitive apprehension and special operations teams. Staff also said Profio is a POST master instructor and a graduate of the LAPD leadership program.
“Privilege to introduce our new chief of police, Jeff Profio,” the official introducing him said, and council members congratulated Profio after the oath. City staff noted the hiring followed an extensive recruitment process with community participation.
The swearing‑in concluded with brief remarks and photos. Profio’s start date and the city’s personnel announcements were part of a larger public safety update included in the city manager’s report.
