Carol Stiles described survivor stories and outreach activities, distributed BE FAST cards for placement in homes and vehicles, and said the organization offers support groups, navigators and counseling for survivors and families.
Stiles emphasized prevention and rapid response: "80 percent of strokes are preventable," she said during her remarks, and she urged residents with high blood pressure, diabetes, AFib or other risk factors to seek treatment and education. The council thanked Stiles for her work and accepted the proclamation.
