Division staff reported that Scott Memorial reached occupancy on Nov. 1 and that teachers and staff have moved in. Construction punch-list items remain — including a backordered flagpole, some stair treads and handrails, and LED lighting — but staff said most outstanding items are being completed and that floors will be stripped and waxed over the holiday break.
Dr. Hager credited maintenance and contractor teams for recent progress and said the division continues to work with vendors and engineers to address mechanical balancing and other minor issues. Town crews completed work on the water system, though they are investigating two nonfunctional hydrants on the school side; the division said there are sufficient hydrants available in the interim.
A joint dedication and ribbon-cutting for Scott Memorial is set for Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m.; board members were reminded that January and February meetings will begin at 10 a.m. rather than evening hours.
