Citizen raises allegations about teacher and weapons incidents; board cites personnel confidentiality and HR process

During the public-comment period, community member Dan Teske presented two concerns to the board. Teske said he understood "there's an art teacher named Lisonbee Olsen who refuses to let art be displayed at Chick fil A because of her LGBTQ plus views" and asked whether the district was investigating and would make findings public.

The district's public respondent answered that personnel matters cannot be discussed in open session and described the complaint process: any complaint alleging misconduct by a staff member would be investigated by the director of human resources, and dispositions for personnel matters are not public records. "We can't get into personnel conversations here... If there's a complaint with the staff member, then we investigate that. It would be generally led by our director of human resources," the respondent said.

Teske also asked about behavior statistics, citing a local report suggesting Pewaukee had multiple weapons cases; he asked how the public could learn more and whether the board would place such items on a future agenda. Staff said the board cannot have a substantive agenda discussion during public comment, but offered to meet with Teske to provide public information and suggested he contact the board president to request an agenda item. The board reiterated that if an individual complaint is filed, the investigation is handled through HR and personnel dispositions are private.

The board did not confirm or deny the factual accuracy of Teske's allegations during the meeting and directed him to the formal complaint process and to submit any request for public agenda placement through the board president.
