Council approves quick-claim deed of grassy area beside 414 South Thompson to Kilgores

The Excelsior Springs City Council approved a quick-claim deed conveying the grassy portion of the hitch lot adjacent to 414 South Thompson to Mark and Brenda Kilgore.
Staff explained that the city owns the grassy area beyond the pavement adjacent to the building and that the building faces and doorways require adjacent land to address drainage and retaining-wall repairs. The staff recommendation was to deed the grassy area (but not the paved parking surface) to the property owners so they can maintain and repair features adjacent to the building.
A motion to approve Resolution 15-24 was made, seconded and approved by unanimous roll call. The deed conveys the grass area only; the city retains the pavement of the hitch lot.
Council members remarked informally during the roll call about the meeting beep and then moved on to later items.
