Mister Gunn (staff) explained that changes to the overall concept and a switch in the dais shape increased scope; he said $32,000 in savings from other community projects was being applied and the 25% contingency was recommended because demolition and unknown site conditions could produce change orders.
The ordinance authorizes a contract amount of $173,925 with a $43,481.25 contingency (25%). Council voted by roll call and the motion passed 8-0, making bill 64-66 ordinance 24-51.
Staff described the dais top material change to a polished synthetic surface, replacing the worn laminate, and said details will be finalized with the architect and contractor as the project proceeds.
