At the Town and Country Aug. 26 meeting, resident Kathleen Wood described neighborhood concerns about two houses she said are planned for a site on Mueller Lane and reported seeing large trucks parked at the future building site.
"I live at, 22 Country West Acres," Wood said, noting her property borders Town and Country. She asked whether parking heavy construction vehicles at an unoccupied future building site is legal and said she would provide photographs to city staff. Wood added that the rear access lane she shares with the development area is narrower than code in places — ranging from about 17 feet to a narrow point she said measures 12.4 feet — and that utility companies have asserted easement rights and proposed cutting sassafras trees that have grown there for decades.
Mayor and staff responded that the project had passed planning and that the fire district had reviewed and approved the plans; staff asked Wood to provide photos so code and enforcement staff can follow up. Wood also asked for clarification about where detached garages would be sited after she said a required sign had been posted in the wrong location.
The board recorded no formal action on the item during the meeting; staff acknowledged the resident’s concerns and noted the matter would be documented in the minutes and the resident would receive the posted materials and follow-up.
