The Mexico City Council on July 22 approved a resolution to execute agreements for recommended tourism-tax funding following a Tourism Commission meeting held July 17.
The Tourism Commission reported it considered two applications: Mexico Young Farmers requested $5,966 for advertising for a 2024 tractor pull; the commission recommended funding the request at $5,000 (the event had been funded at $5,000 in 2023). The commission also recommended $1,000 for NASCO Village Care Certification activities in November 2024 and $1,000 for Mexico Village Square Association holiday advertising.
Staff recommended the council adopt the resolution (Bill No. 2020-0444) to authorize the city manager to execute the agreements for the recommended funding amounts. The council moved, read the bill by title and passed the resolution.
