Council adopts $10,000 appropriation for first‑aid squad, introduces multiple ordinances and approves scout event

The Pompton Lakes Borough Council approved final adoption of ordinance 24‑31, authorizing the appropriation of $10,000 from the capital improvement fund to purchase and upgrade equipment for the First Aid Squad. The ordinance was opened for public comment (none offered) and then approved by roll call.
Council also introduced several ordinances for future hearings and final action, including amendments to general ordinances related to metered mobile parking and other regulations; the measures were moved for introduction, seconded, and scheduled for further consideration and public notice, with final adoption dates set where appropriate.
On the consent agenda, several resolutions were removed for individual consideration (resolutions 24302, 24303 and 24339 were noted as removed) and the remaining consent items were approved. Council conducted roll call votes on the pulled items where required.
Council approved a request by Scout Pack 88 to hold a soapbox derby and to close portions of roadway between Hershfield Park Place and Ramapo Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 (rain date Sept. 22) and instructed that emergency services be notified.
Votes were recorded by roll call or unanimous voice as the agenda required. No litigation or policy changes resulted from these votes beyond the ordinances and event approvals recorded.
