The Board of Commissioners voted to grant Inhabit Home Health and Hospice a full (100%) fee waiver to use the county annex for a community memorial scheduled June 25, 2025 and authorized the chair to sign the authorization.
Commissioners stressed the need to manage repeated waiver requests because each waiver reduces revenue while the county still incurs expenses (power, propane and labor to clean and maintain the agriplex/annex). During discussion the board described this as roughly the eighth or ninth waiver request this year and supported creating a formal waiver policy with a cap (one proposal was to limit waivers to 50% in general, with exceptions considered for midweek events).
Motion and vote: an unidentified commissioner moved to grant the 100% waiver and to authorize the chair to sign; the motion was approved by voice vote.
Next steps: staff were directed to produce a proposed fee-waiver schedule with clear caps and criteria for future requests and to bring that policy back to the board for formal adoption.
