Historic Preservation staff reports administrative approvals and CLG grant submission

Staff told the Historic Preservation Board that several administrative approvals were issued, and that the city submitted a Certified Local Government (CLG) grant application to fund a downtown resources resurvey and three residential windshield surveys.
During the Nov. 5 meeting, Historic Preservation staff summarized recent administrative approvals, including routine maintenance and signage permits. Staff noted one outstanding application for 101 East Main Street (the Katy Depot) seeking pole-mounted banners; that proposal will require coordination with utilities and a sign permit before installation.
Staff also reported that grant writer John James submitted a Certified Local Government (CLG) grant application to fund a downtown historic resources resurvey and windshield surveys of three residential areas to assess potential residential historic districts. Staff said the grant was submitted the day before the meeting and the city will await notification on the award.
There were no further staff items, and the board adjourned.
