Denison council approves 4% pay increase for presiding judge and reappoints municipal judges

After returning from executive session, the Denison City Council discussed municipal judiciary compensation and appointments. A motion to approve a 4% pay increase for Presiding Judge Don Bamman, effective with the January 2025 pay cycle, was moved and passed. Council then moved to reappoint Presiding Judge Donald Bamman and alternate municipal judge Steven Veil File to two-year terms effective Jan. 1, 2025; that motion also passed by voice vote.
Council members offered congratulations and thanks for judicial service. The council recorded the effective date for the judges’ terms and the pay increase to be applied in the stated payroll cycle.
