Harrisonville staff updates on airport ribbon-cutting, sewer work, lead-line inventory and Royal Street contract

City administration and department staff provided project updates during the Board's reports segment.
Airport ribbon-cutting The city announced an upcoming airport ribbon-cutting with MODOT Aviation Group; staff indicated roughly 10 planes were expected and said the event will occur prior to the next meeting.
Sewer and infrastructure projects Staff updated the board on the South Area Sewer lift-station work and said the contractor's contract is set to expire Jan. 2, 2025. The South Street extension project moved to new design engineers (5Ks or SK) after prior engineers were removed; staff stressed these are grant-funded efforts.
Lead service line inventory and Royal Street Staff reported that lead service line-inventory data has been submitted to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). Spaulding Construction was selected as the design-build contractor for the Royal Street extension project; contract negotiations are underway and staff expect to set a schedule next month.
Parks and other operational notes Parks staff removed playground equipment at Shelter 7 after safety concerns and plan to replace it with outdoor woodsy playground equipment; other park maintenance and fundraising updates were provided, including completed AARP sidewalk work and dog-park fundraising totals.
Staff asked the board to be watchful for event notices and said more information will be circulated to aldermen as schedules firm up.
