Warrenton parks and aquatics leaders outline fall programming, pool reopening and cemetery work

"We had 2,150 people come through the doors this month," Aquatics Director Lisa Kramer said when describing August pool attendance, noting this was 122 fewer than the previous year. Kramer said staff sold 18 new memberships, renewed 19, and registered 24 insurance-related memberships; the indoor pool reopened after annual cleaning and the fall schedule began with Tuesday late-night hours. Swim lesson registration opens Sept. 17 and lessons will begin in October (exact start dates for lessons were not specified in the transcript). Kramer also said the department is still seeking a front-desk worker for afternoons and Saturdays and noted family events including "Tadpole Tales" and a Clifford Halloween story event on Oct. 2.
Grounds Maintenance Director Justin Knoll said crews completed trimming at the City Cemetery, planted two remembrance trees (one at Binkley Woods and one at the City Cemetery) and will install a memorial bench at Binkley Woods. Knoll also reported crews prepared the pool while it was closed and said the fall recreation season (including city soccer) will begin this week with roughly 700 children signed up.
