Warrenton aldermen approve contracts, equipment and a fireworks permit in Nov. 5 meeting

The board authorized an agreement with SAK Construction LLC to perform additional CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) lining work on the 2024 CIPP lining project, with the contract not to exceed $117,157. Public Works Director Guy Givers presented the request and the ordinance was read and adopted by roll call.
Council members approved multiple vehicle purchases. City Administrator Brandy Walters had proposed using remaining ARPA funds to buy two F-150 police responder vehicles with outfitting; the board moved and approved the police-responder vehicle purchase. The board separately approved the purchase of one Ford F-250 for grounds and maintenance for $52,018 via state bid. During the public works report, Givers also requested and the board approved two Ford F-150 pickup trucks via state bid for $103,974 (public-works fleet) and the purchase of a John Deere compact wheel loader for the wastewater treatment plant for $131,573.15 from Sidinger TerKeir Noble (Herman, Mo.).
The tourism committee's recommendation to pay Tribute to Veterans Memorial $9,991.17 for utilities, cleaning and landscaping was approved as a budgeted item. The board also approved a one-time fireworks permit for Nov. 8 to allow the Big Red Booster Club to fire a boxed, single-shot item from a private residence adjacent to Warrior Ridge after a high-school game.
All of the above motions were approved by roll-call votes in the meeting; recorded tallies in the transcript show unanimous votes among those present for each item, with one member absent for some votes. No controversial or contested votes were recorded during the meeting; staff and aldermen discussed logistics and funding sources briefly but did not amend the motions on the floor.
