Warrenton — The Warrenton Board of Aldermen on Oct. 15 approved a conditional use permit and site plan to allow Modern K-nine Solutions to operate a dog training and overnight boarding facility at 1000 Shops at Warrenton, Suite 1.
Tim Burks, director of planning and development, told the board the site totals 21.82 acres and is zoned C-3 (Highway Commercial). Burks said the applicant has provided dog training and boarding services since establishing the business and sought the conditional use permit to bring operations into compliance with city code. He reported Planning & Zoning recommended approval: CEP 96 passed P&Z and SP 171 passed P&Z (each with votes reported in Burks’ report).
The council read the ordinance for the conditional use permit and recorded roll-call votes; the ordinance passed 6-0. The same procedural reading and vote followed for the site plan, which also passed 6-0.
The applicant, identified in the record as Thomas Loveless, was present and the board recorded no questions or conditions in the council discussion. The approvals bring the business into formal compliance with city zoning and site-plan requirements; staff confirmed P&Z findings and that required elements were met per Burks’ report.
Council members did not propose amendments to the permit or plan during the meeting. The ordinances will be recorded per standard city procedure.
